When I was in elementary school, everyone always gave out valentines on Valentine's Day. We made mailboxes out of paper bags and everyone walked around distributing valentines. Most people brought store-bought ones. Some included the occasional lollipop or temporary tattoo. I, however, wanted to make my valentines special.
So every year, I spent the week before Valentine's Day making a unique card for everyone in my class. Some were pop-up cards, some had attachments, and others had stories about the person I was writing for. Everyone appreciated candy, but I always got special comments about the cards that I made. Now that I'm in middle school, there are too many people to make unique valentines for, but I still remember the fun time I had making them when I was younger.
In this month's issue of KidzPost, we look at Valentine's Day and the theme of friendship. In the following pages, you'll ecounter tall tales, the science of friendship, a new kind of love poem, and much more. I hope you have as much fun as I did with my valentines. Friendship is fun!
It's Valentine's Day, and, here at Kidzpost, we celebrate the holiday, without getting too luvvy duvvy. So don't worry, the pages won't be anything like that. Many do, however, share a theme of either Valentine's Day, love, or friendship.
