In my house, we don't have many superstitions, but we do have one special one. My dad taught it to me when I was very young. At the beginning of each month, the first thing you say in the morning has to be "bunny bunny bunny" and then you will have good luck. I know that it sounds silly, but we take it very seriously at my house.
I've actually encountered this superstition elsewhere. In one book I read, a girl says "hares!" on the last night of the month and "rabbits!" on the first day. It turns out that the tradition started in England, and I assume that it has something to do with lucky rabbit feet.
In this month's issue of KidzPost, we look beyond St. Patrick's Day and look at the theme of Luck and Superstition. In the following pages, you'll be able to watch a paper dragon experience some bad luck, learn the truth about "unlucky" bats, see a really cool craft project, and much more. I hope you have a lot of fun! An remember to say "bunny bunny bunny" at the start of next month.
